If I could get reception from anyone else at a reasonable price I would switch plans in a heart beat, unfortunately I live in the country and at&t & cricket are my only options there. If you bring your own phone, I’d advise against getting a hotspot plan as I was told (by the third person I spoke to) that you cannot use these phones with the hotspot plan. Worst customer service I have ever had, no problem taking your money, but “hands are tied” giving it back. Also make sure the SIM is aligned with the tray properly it should snap into place. Also some SIM card come cut in various Sizes and you only need snap off the extra bit or replace it later. I ended up figuring it out on my own after resetting the network connection a different way then the store manager tried. 2.SIM Card Does not Fit the Tray: You may have a larger SIM card, get a Nano or cut yours down to size. Was told that they could not give me my money back bc the billing cycle had ended?!? Also, have had the service for 3 months and spent 2+hours in a cricket store this last weekend (on a family vacation) trying to get my phone to make and receive calls… My entire family had this problem so it was obviously not a phone issue. What?!?! So I called and complained and asked for money back. Come to find out, NONE of our devices can actually use the mobile hotspot plan that we were sold…. Dont attempt to insert or remove the SIM card while the device is powered on. They signed us up with the 4 for $130 mobile hotspot plan. Samsung Galaxy A11 - Insert / Remove SIM Card. Was told we could “bring our own devices” and that they were all compatible with the network. It does have relatively good reception, but customer support is extremely lacking. I agree and disagree with some of the reviewers. It’s a perfect phone for those who primarily want to talk and text, with minor app usage. It’s cheap, it works, and it doesn’t offer blazing internet speeds.
Overall: Cricket is precisely as advertised.
